What is the policy in the military on pairing up married women with married men on 2-person missions. Question is too vague. 2. It takes two to tango, and if they are serious about their marriage then it won't matter. 3. What kind of mission is run with only two damn folks. 4. There is such a thing as separate rooms. My personal feeling is gender should have absolutely nothing to do with any kind of military assignment - particularly if the woman is armed and skilled in hand to hand combat. Being professional in the job is the key. I think the command element, when selecting for the mission know their personnel and take all things into consideration. Other than that, I know of no set rule. The only answer I have is people are going to be people. I've personally been married 3 times, all servicemembers. Some people deserve your trust, some don't. I've had "work husbands" who prevented people from bothering me. We didn't use the term though, as it implied an inappropriate relationship, which it wasn't. Assignment to any mission should be based upon the individuals' qualifications to accomplish the mission. As a Commanding Officer, while I would consider personal situations, accomplishing the mission takes precedence. My opinion that's all it is. Clearly some have taken it to far but the policy is you follow orders. If a couple pairing up within a 24 hour period or the worry of it happening you are in the wrong relationship. I only started working with women a little later than most because of career fields. Not one that i enjoyed tthe first few. But women started in the different fields and it was a unknown of treatment. Mostly they were given solf jobs in the maintenance field which I never agreed with. Me i hardly ever cuss or use words that I souldn't say to my Mother but some get to carried away. Lets close this. MSgt John McGowan Mon, 01 Jan 2018 08:53:56 -0500 2018-01-01T08:53:56-05:00 2017-12-29T13:05:50-05:00
