How long does it take to get a waiver? and is it difficult? I was told I had to wait six months before re-enlisting. The branch is the army, but I wan to enlist into the air force. How would that process be as well? What is the process like getting a waiver for re-enlistment into the military?2019-07-17T15:52:13-04:00PVT Private RallyPoint Member4822427

I have an uncharacterized discharge and my separation code is JGA, also with the RE code of 3. I can give you my experience w/ getting back in to the Air Guard after getting RE-3 Medical Discharge in 2000.
I went through 3 recruiters before I found one that was willing to fight for me. I had all SORTS of documentation to show that the issue the discharged me for was incorrectly diagnosed, and poses not threat - to include letters of recommendation from officers, senior enlisted, the former JAG of the Air Force, and the Chief of Neurology at my local VA.
It is a fight. It is a LONG fight. You will need to get a waiver just to go to MEPS to get cleared for service.
If you want it. If you deem this fight worthy, then stick it out. You will stall out at times, but then it'll move fast.Response by SSgt Private RallyPoint Member made Jul 17 at 2019 4:32 PM2019-07-17T16:32:46-04:002019-07-17T16:32:46-04:002019-07-17T15:52:13-04:00
