What is the process to become a 37F? Would I have to fill out a packet or talk to someone to actually become a 37F?

I’m 24 and I’m interested in the MOS 37F. I would be freshly enlisted so prior service or college degree (I do have 34 community college credits). I was doing some research and was wondering how enlisting as this job would go? From my knowledge it looks like I’d be initially going as an MP, then the process would begin after that if I qualify? That’s the part I’m confused on. Or would I have to fill out a packet or talk to someone to actually get in and get qualified to become a 37F. Thanks.

Ashley Nicole The process is the same as any other Soldier. Take your ASVAB, score high enough to select 37F, go to basic, AIT, and command. You will have to fill out the electronic version of an SF-86 (Questionnaire for National Security Positions). This MOS requires a TS/SCI eligibility.
If you enter the Army as an MP, you will have to wait until your re-enlistment date to possibly choose reclassification. Even then, you will have to qualify for the position.

SGT Javier Silva ok that makes more sense! I didn’t know since you had to qualify for it and go through a selection process for it, if they made you choose something else first, so in case you don’t make it through selection you’d be reclassified into something else? Or just recycled?

SGT Javier Silva Correction: She’s going enlisted so she only needs to be eligible to hold a Secret Clearance. Officer types are required to hold a TS/SCI.

Ashley Nicole You enlist as a 37F but you are required to pass MP training. You are not enlisting as an MP. If you fail MP school, however, you will either be recycled as a 31B (MP) or re-classed to a different MOS.
