I’d say that should tell you something. Told myself I was going to recruit out of Southern California and go home. Now knowing what I know about recruiter and especially that location to draw in recruits you couldn’t give me a bonus to do it. Oh well it is. You ran a dozen up the MEPS Flow but not enough passed the ASVAB or showed up able to pass a drug test so they could ship so YOU failed your mission.
4) Do you LIKE cold calling on the phone? You are the Army's telemarketer.

Run, don't walk to AVOID recruiting. LOL! I did it for 3 years in my hometown and that was a mistake. I didn’t volunteer. Was selected right after Drill Sergeant duty ended in January 1991. Went to school in July-August and was in a recruiting station in September 1991. I hated it! Was never so glad to complete an assignment in my life! Some recruiters love it, but they’re mostly assigned to walk-in markets. In my Battalion, the walk-in market was Clarksville, TN at Ft. Campbell. I was in Nashville and there were so many other opportunities here for HS seniors for college or those who wanted go to work. There are a lot of competing factors. Plus, the Army was only accepting recruits with a QT score on the ASVAB of 50 or above at the time (Category 1A-3A), which really hurt us. Friends don’t generally identify by or associate by IQ, ASVAB, or ACT scores. So, the Navy and Marines were recruiting less than a 50 (3B, which I think was a 35-49) and then they’d talk their 3A friends into joining. Even some 3A’s can’t pass the physical or meet legal restrictions. Anyway, there’s far more to it than meets the eye. SFC Dan Sorrow, M.S. Even if you get your battalion of choice, a battalion can cover several states. You might get the battalion that covers LA and the station that covers Bakersfield. You won't find out your location till you're in school and it's too late to change your mind then SFC Private RallyPoint Member Mon, 12 Oct 2020 22:49:41 -0400 2020-10-12T22:49:41-04:00 Response by MSG Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 13 at 2020 2:27 AM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/what-is-the-process-to-become-an-army-recruiter?n=6396704&urlhash=6396704

First; become a NCO and have some experience as a SGT before even thinking about recruiting.
