What is the process to transition from Army to Air Force?

I have submitted my DD FORM 368 and it is at my brigade. Any information on this process?

You first must have a conditional release from the branch you are in to go hunt for a new branch of service. The recruiters need this to be able to work your accession packet into the USAF. Always good to make sure you have gathered together as much supporting documents you can for your accession packet on your own so very little is left but to sign and provide them the copy of the conditional release. Talk to the recruiter on the checklist for your packet and find out what else you need to gather while the conditional release is going thru the system.

Correct me if I’m wrong SFC Private RallyPoint Member but a conditional release doesn’t grant a release from active duty. I believe you have to ETS and then begin the enlistment process to the Air Force.

Keep in mind, the Air Force has a prior service quota and you need to fit into that quota or no dice

I was just informed by a career counseler that contacted division who contacted HRC and said a 368 can't be done unless I have 3 months left or less on my contract for active duty. Pretty big disappointment.
