I was in search of some details of how I might go about getting a slot to green plt. Can I ask durning AIT like you can with RASP or do you have to wait until you get to your unit? What is the process to try out for SOAR as a 68w? 2019-05-22T12:16:05-04:00 SPC(P) Private RallyPoint Member 4658791

Re-classing from 11B to 68W in hopes of going to SOAR. Not sure if that was just an option for initial entry Soldiers, but I dont see why they would limit their pool like that. After you will do SOCM and EGP. If that doesn't work out, you can always walk in to a SORB recruiting station Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made May 22 at 2019 12:29 PM 2019-05-22T12:29:57-04:00 2019-05-22T12:29:57-04:00 SFC Michael D. 4659406

I'm not sure if they have their own Medics. In Desert Storm we kept two medevac UH60's with them on their missions. Things may have changed. Once selected you then would be assigned to the Regiment in your MOS. Process takes 4-12 months from contacting the recruiters to assignment-it’s up to you how fast you can complete process.

There is a Facebook page you can go to as well for info :)
Good luck

NSDQ

160th Recruiting

The 160th SOAR provides unparalleled precision rotary wing special operations, ISR, and expertise to all DoD Special Operations Forces.
