Now in the guard, when they get accepted, they pinned on the WOC rank and are called candidates at their unit until they arrive at WOCS and throughout the WOCS training. If there any NG Warrants out there, please correct me if I'm wrong. I'm active duty, but I know the guard units in Michigan perform the practice that I just mentioned. Again my wife ask, "Please tell me what Warrant Officers are called?" Once the soldier becomes a Warrant Officer Candidate, they are addressed as Candidate "Last Name." Some of the units insist in addressing the WOCs by previous rank, which is not IAW AR 600-20.
