<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I know I just asked in reference to special operations dog teams if there were any civil affairs (and yes im still aware of the whole 5 meter target idea) but I was wondering if anyone is aware of the route to go dog team while in the Ranger Regiment if I were to make it in? Im aware it would be a long route for a prior service (coming from Navy) member but it's something I want to pursue if plausible? I believe theyre all infantry as well correct?Mon, 20 Apr 2020 21:13:42 -0400What is the route to go dog team while in the Ranger Regiment?

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Dog teams in any unit are not a full career job. That's like asking how do I get how do I become the night baker or the rations manager or on dinner shift in the kitchen at Ranger Regiment.<br />Not to disparage the Navy, but I've never seen anyone from the Navy pass the selection for 75th. Civil affairs selection and psyop selection would be a whole lot more realistic for you. Also those are actual MOS's and their job is not handling dogs. If you want to be a dog handler you can see if there's a spot when you get to the MEPS. Most likely there is not. Have a backup plan.SFC Private RallyPoint MemberMon, 20 Apr 2020 22:07:06 -04002020-04-20T22:07:06-04:00Response by SPC Erich Guenther made Apr 20 at 2020 11:02 PM

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>To my knowledge there is no such thing as a "dog team" in any SOCOM unit. There might be trained dog handlers via a special course but I never heard of a "dog team". I think the OP is misinterpreting something. So SOCOM would look at the below as one of many tools in the toolset vs a new MOS. My guess is they train specific Rangers to handle the dogs but it is not MOS specific, rather it is a class they take at a school.<br /><br /><a target="_blank" href="https://www.foxnews.com/tech/special-operations-dogs-set-for-new-advanced-tactical-gear">https://www.foxnews.com/tech/special-operations-dogs-set-for-new-advanced-tactical-gear</a> <div class="pta-link-card answers-template-image type-default">

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>you are looking too far into the future. you must first pass BCT, AIT, Airborne, and RASP before trying to get to a dog team (which isn't a thing) the only MOS is 31K for dog handling and there are no positions in SOCOM.SSG Private RallyPoint MemberTue, 21 Apr 2020 19:42:44 -04002020-04-21T19:42:44-04:002020-04-20T21:13:42-04:00
