What is the terrain like at NTC?

I am currently stationed at Fort Bliss and I am familiar with the open sand dune type terrain. Mostly I am just trying to get an idea of what I am dealing with.

More hills and mountains ...I was an OC I drove all over that place....the top of the box on the other side is a impact area for jets....one big opening coming from main side. If you go there playing OPFOR you will be climbing if not in your Vizmods

Depending on when you go it will either be windy and cold or windy and hot.

Is more like rocky desert. But I'll tell you, summers are brutal as well as the winters. Then you could have days when it is raining, windy, and cold. I was stationed there for three years from 1993 til 1996 with the Vultures Team, Operations Group.

It is very much like Bliss; some more varying hilly terrain and a lot more wadi’s strewn throughout; if you like Bliss...you will love Irwin.

The terrain is open, bumpy desert. There are soft sand spots . There are lots of mountains and broken roads. All depends!

I’ve flown aircraft from Fort Bliss to Fort Irwin and the terrain pretty much looks the same from Point A to Point B.

When I went, it was HOT. But I like hot so I was good. The ground resembles what your skin would look like if you were extremely dehydrated. I would leave some food on the ground for a couple days to see if bugs would get it, but none came out. NTC is hot, dreadful, and builds character.
