Also make sure you fit the new tattoo policy in 670-1 or they might boot you from the Army Recruiter Course. The EASIEST way to get selected, however, is NOT by going through the whole packet process. Do like I did and call your branch and ask to be "DA Selected". Then you don't have to bother with the whole packet and selection process. You must have completed your first enlistment and already reenlisted at least once. There are other minimum and maximum eligibility requirements as others have shared. You can review these in AR 601-1. Keep in mind Soldiers may require USAREC waivers for different administrative qualifications, which are processed once a completed Volunteer Recruiter Packet or DA Select nomination is received. Additionally, each Branch has different criteria and missions to select or release Soldiers for recruiting assignments. You should check with your Branch to see what their MOS Qualifications and mission is to release for recruiting. Let them know you intend to VOLUNTEER if this is the case. Otherwise they may put you on their DA Select list and you won't get the assignment preference priority volunteers get over DA Selects.

SFC Pierce
III Corps Outreach NCO Response by 1SG Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 27 at 2015 3:00 PM 2015-04-27T15:00:51-04:00 2015-04-27T15:00:51-04:00 SFC Private RallyPoint Member 3673317

Requirements are thrown out the window in USAREC.
