What is the typical dollar amount for DOD medical retirement pay for someone retiring at 10 years as an E4?

You need to talk to your MED Board and PEBLO folks to have a better understanding on how this whole thing breaks down. Medical retirees get almost all benefits of a retiree but DOD pension is in a weird grey area depending on a lot of factors.

First I am no guru. I think you will get severance pay and not retirement pay. To qualify for CRDP or CRSC I believe you must have at least 20 years of AD time. Ask your PEBLO.

The formula includes percentage of grade/rank, disability, years of service, etc. Also, in the olden days, the military medical retirement percentage would, most of the time, increase through the VA medical evaluation. Also, state taxes can affect the typical dollar amount. You and I could leave the military with the same disability at the same time, with the same rank and get different pay. Good luck and go to the VA as soon as you get the paperwork.

It depends on several factors, the first being whether you qualify for a medical retirement or a medical separation, and there are several calculators that apply. Your PEBLO will explain the money portion to you. You can't even begin to make a wild guess until you get your ratings

There is no typical dollar amount. Each case if vastly different and based entirely on your injuries or condition. You've provided no information which is why your calculators and people here can provide you with no information, let alone anything accurate.
