What is the value of PME training? Officer and Enlisted!

Professional Military Training, Is there a nexus between this kind of training and performance? What is one thing that you learned that benefitted you as a supervisor and leader? Has this helped in civilian life for veterans and retirees?

I remember our PME in the Air Force and in managing others. A young troop (an NCO) was given a new and much nicer desk and he became agitated. His own supervisors found out that he loved that desk and the change got him out of his comfort zone. Being aware of these small things seem to bear themselves out in the long run. IMHO.

Learning how to deal with management issues. The pictures below are officers. lol. Just kidding!!

You get out of it what you put into. Unfortunately, many use it just to "check the box".

I did JPME for senior NCOs my first couple weeks in Afghanistan. It was...enlightening. Unfortunately for me, there was very little enthusiasm for it when I tried sharing the idea with some of our senior enlisted leaders. Kind of personified the way that whole pump went!

It is horrible how they are making it harder on those in low rank forcing airman to leave due to test that mean nothing and have no real value on how well you do your job. Now they have changed it you take the book test 2 test that is that is to allow the individual to go to the school so what is the point
