We didn't have a tv when I was growing up. Had to sneak off to my buddy's house to watch any tv.
I remember watching Pappy Boyington on Baa Baa Black Sheep. My first dog wasn't a Bull Terrier but his name was Meatball.

Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C. was another one that I liked.

Also I remember one called Garrison's Gorillas. I believe it was the tv version of the Dirty Dozen.

Just about all of the military-themed TV I've watched has been Sci-fi of some form or another. Probably Stargate SG-1 stands out as my favorite, if distant future sci-fi doesn't count.

I have not seen The Pacific yet, but I have seen the entire DVD collection at my local library. I will definitely have to check it out. Until then I would have to say the original Band of Brother's series

Surprisingly, after a terrible pilot episode. I've found that "Enlisted" is now hilarious! It's a lot like "Scrubs" but with plenty of Army flavor. Not every joke is funny, but the ones that cater to those who've served, they'll have you giggling in formation the next day

I just discovered "MeTV" and have been watching "M*A*S*H." We found a show called "F Troop" which is basically MASH set in the 1870s in western America (not as good as MASH, but ok).

"Hogan's Heroes" is my other favorite.

Back in the 80s, I liked "Major Dad." It was a humorous look at a Marine Officer who marries a liberal newspaper writer. They had to cancel the show when the character got promoted to LTC.

I liked the entire "JAG" series with David James Elliott and Catherine Bell.

"JAG" spun off NCIS. Mark Harmon is awesome as Special Agent Gibbs. I have all of Gibbs' Rules printed out. I tried to watch NCIS: LA and couldn't do it.

"Stargate SG-1" and "Stargate Atlantis." When SG-1 was on TV, I found myself throwing out the one-liners an instant before Richard Dean Andersen as Col O'Neill did. I started thinking the writers were following me around, writing down all my sarcastic/caustic quips.

China Beach . . . particularly the episode Through and Through which is about PTSD in military nurses and how hard it was to secure recognition, acceptance, and care from organizations set up / intended to treat only men.

This led me into private practice that was far better for my need.

Overall brilliant TV series . . . brought back many memories.

One show that had military undertones was Magnum P.I. A third-generation military man, he attended the U.S. Naval Academy and voluntarily enlisted in Vietnam, serving as a liaison for Navy intelligence. In Southeast Asia, he met the men who were to become his closest friends: Theodore “T.C.” Calvin, an African American from the Deep South who served as a helicopter pilot, and Orville “Rick” Wright, a scrappy machine-gunner from Chicago. All three men settled in Hawaii after the war, and despite their occasional bickering, they were indeed a band of brothers. Magnum was also the first Vietnam veteran to be featured in a prime-time drama on American television.

I liked "Combat" which portrayed events from WWII. At the time it seem to be very realistic, but now with technology it probably isn't. I like the old TV shows even if the acting is bad.

I always enjoyed "12 O'clock High" which was a weekly series about a WWII Bomb group of B17s assigned to the 8th Air Force based in England where they flew combat missions into Nazi held areas in Europe. Another show I like was Combat, which also had a WWII Theme and a chief character there was Vic Morrow as Sgt Sanders in an Army Infantry unit.
