What is your awareness of the military recruiting in online world of Second Life?

Lots of Servicemembers enjoy video games. Many of these are online. I've had my own avatar roaming the grid of Second Life since 2007. I've met Veterans from around the country and we've struck up friendships and enjoyed realtime conversations. Lately the branches of the military have followed the lead of educational, commercial and political organizations by building 'sims' and exploratory areas as recruiting strategies to draw in gamers with some computer skills. What is your awareness of this effort? Anyone have an avatar in an online grid where you 've met other Servicemembers or Veterans?

I was a tester for second life when it came out. It is a weird place. I am sure the very small investment in building these area provide enough ROI to continue to operate.

Honestly, I didn't know that Second Life was still a thing. I dabbled with it in 2008, said "Meh." and went on my way.

I don't even know what you are talking about. "Anyone have an avatar in an online grid where you've met other service members or veterans"? isn't even a question I've ever comtemplated since I don't know what a "second life" is. I have a lot to do in my current life. Sounds interesting. Where would one go to learn more about this?
