What Is Your Dream Life?

Don't we all have dreams? If someone could wave a magic wand and grant you one wish, what would that one wish be? What is your dream life? Do you have one or are you one who feels you are destined to a life of hardship and that you don't have a choice in the matter? Do you believe in dreams? Do you believe they can come true? I do!

My dream life is, I want to be happy and healthy. I want to live at or near the beach or on the water. I want to travel. I want to finish my quest, whatever it is that makes me happy. I want to leave a positive legacy and be remembered as an honorable and passionate person. I want to be able to make money wherever I am, enjoy doing it, and be able to do it, or not, whenever I want. I want to be able to do what I do for as long as I live.

What is your dream life?
I will paraphrase a saying I heard many years ago that I really like: If you don't know where you're going, how will you know when you get there?

Dreaming is where it begins. There is no right or wrong. They are our dreams. Do you allow yourself to dream?

Some think it's just a waste of time.
How will your dreams ever come true if you don't allow yourself to dream?
To make dreams come true, we must know what they are. From there, it's a matter of doing what is necessary to make it happen. Are you willing to do whatever it takes? We are in charge of our own destinies. Make yours come true! Just go for it because we only go around once in this world. Make yours a trip, a journey of a lifetime! What is your dream life?

To be honest, I'm living my dream. Sure it might be nice to have the debts completely paid off, but that isn't standing in the way of my happiness. I love. I am loved. I feel worthwhile (thanks in large measure to my service to my country both during active duty and as a veteran)

I dream for world peace...
Not giving a funny answer here, but I love to travel, and would like to be able to travel anywhere in the world I wish to go without having to worry about American-phobias or the repercussions from it. There are so many places in the world I would love to visit, to enjoy... to just say, "Yeah, I've been there!!!" And not as a representitive of the American War Machine... And , I won't lie, it makes me a little sad to know that I will not be able to do this in my life time, although people from those countries can easily come to America... So yeah... World Peace it is! :)

Sgt David G Duchesneau Thanks for sharing your dream life - awesome. I'mooing to give u the beach - too expensive here in California. My current dream is to move back to Colorado next year around August 2016. First, I'm going to sell my home in Castle Rock, CO and use that money from that to secure property in either Loveland, CO or Fort Collins, CO and build a custom home with a Master Suite for my parents on the first floor (they are 84 and 80) and I want to have a great place for them to live in their golden years close to their two boys (me and my brother Gary). That I will secure with my Veterans Guaranteed Loan that is tied up in the other Castle Rock, CO property. Then I will start paying off my two older girl's college loans and get my third daughter off to college in the Fall of 2016. My next goal is to take my military pension and invest it in some property in Belize for my future play ground and retirement location for (6-Months) out of the year. The other 6 months I will be in Colorado riding my Harley Davidson until I can't hold it up anymore (I would say about 75 to 80 years of age) then I will have to retire that as well. Finally, marry my three girls off to decent guys and have lots of grandchildren! The End!

I agree that to be healthy and happy is a part of the dream. I would further it by saying I need some adventure, want to feel significant, and want to contribute in ways I currently cannot. My dream, if money were not an issue, would be to earn an MD and JD and either continue my service in the armed forces or go forth to make a difference in the world by helping people, strategically helping to set up initiatives that help improve lives beyond just injections. One of the main reasons I learned everything I could learn under the sun was because I wanted to be helpful and useful, so to be generative and teach others that the hand they reach for is at the end of their own arm, and that it is from their own efforts with help from a friend or stranger along the way that they own their lives and create a legacy. To plant such seeds and see the fruits of that in both those I inspire and through my own progeny, and to have such a length of life to enjoy that would be my dream.

I'm actually super low maintenance. My dream life would be to be debt free and working with an NGO in some backwater town in India. The first bit is slowly happening. The second - My wife is going to need a burning bush. haha

My dream is to do 25 years in the army, be a drill sergeant and retire as an O-5 then teach american history at a high school. Have 2 kids, one boy one girl and retire to live out in the country where its quite and the air isnt hazardous.

I am a very adventurous eater. I love to try new things (within reason, I don't do insects). That being said, I would love to be a food critic for restaurants most would consider "pretentious". I am an avid foodie, and love haute cuisine. So far I have sampled many, and continue to eat at well known establishments if given the opportunity. My last visit was at Peter Luger Steakhouse in Brooklyn, NY. My next destination is going to be Sukiyabashi Jiro in Japan.

I would say that my current life meets all threshold requirements for a happy and meaningful life. A happy and healthy family, work that matters and enough money for everything we really need. For all those things I am truly grateful.

Now if granted a wish to further optimize my life I would leave beautiful Arizona and find some land high up on the Big Island of Hawaii where I could enjoy both the Mountains and the Ocean. I would go back to school and work to earn a Ph.D. in comparative religions and/or religious anthropology and then devote my life to studying religions/religious practice. I would travel the world trying to understand what people believed and why, and how then how that belief impacted their life. I’d share what I learned in the hope that it might bring us all closer together as we learned from one another.

Sgt David G Duchesneau You said everything I hope for too. For health especially for my spouse and to be near the ocean and walk my wonderful canine companion on the beach in the morning and at night. To relax, uncork, and allow life to slow down before I run out of it.
