Being the largest branch I feel like the Army has the most opportunities.

If you want to fly, or advance your education, particularly as an Enlisted person, the AF is your best opportunity. The travel opportunities. Visiting exotic places, meeting exotic people, drinking exotic beer, getting outstanding $USD exchange rates (usually). 30+ countries...loved it!

Espirit de Corps that transcends generations. I meet veterans every day. Most of 'em say "Yeah, I was in the service." What? The Food Service? The Secret Service? Marines tend to self-identify early. It's cool to bump into a fraternal brother/sister, exchange the secret handshake, and have an instant bond. It's is fraternal character is apparent in the other branches... just not as prevalent.

240 years of kicking ass, taking, names and continents. No matter what you call it, we're all a part of the Borg which is known as the military. You mess with one, you mess with all, and we WILL come knocking at your door. Anything that makes us different pales in comparison with what makes us the same (the Coast Guard are the red headed stepchildren). If anyone has ANY doubts, I dare you to go to flag call and not salute this.

Comradery in the Army was my favorite aspect TSgt Melissa Post.
While the Army has many long-established traditions, my favorite aspect about my military branch - the US Army - is the relationships I have built over 34 years in uniform with superiors, peer and subordinates. I'm fairly sure the Army has set AND raised the bar on the Combat Sash of Ultimate Protection. Seriously though I've had the opportunity to work with Navy and AF. Both top notch. I believe with the Army we have more opportunities to work with our other Brothers/Sisters in arms.

Travel, Travel, Travel. WESTPACs are Awesome. How Many Ports can you visit in 6 Months? First on Scene a lot for Natural Disasters Overseas is the US Navy. Bragging Rights, Golden Shellback, Mt Pinatubo Survivor. I got to Handle some of the Most Important Messages in History. Executive Order for Operation El Dorado Canyon and all the Messages leading up to it. Achile Lauro Hijacking the Hijackers. Direct Circuit with the SEALS at their Primary Overseas Training Facility while I was there. No one has to tell me about Iran-Contra, I handled the Messages. Started as an Off-Line Encryption Operator at CINCPACFLT Handling Admiral to Admiral Messages and Messages for the Fast Attack Submarines conducting Surveillance against the Soviets. Oh Yeah! To Quote LCDR Montel Williams "You think 007 is Cool? I am 007" LOL!

I was just memorized by so many who served in WWII & Korea when I served in the Marine Corps. And how very few talked about their experiences except to say " It was tough" and then they would stare off onto something in the distance.

Some people call it propaganda, but it is so true. The sense of family that Marines have for each other. Even though I am in Thailand, when ever I run into a former Marine or Active Duty Marine, it is a family reunion.
