I was raised Catholic but I guess I'm not really much of anything right now. My mentor at AIT gave me this one that really helped. Matt 6:33 "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."

I took it to mean, do the right thing no matter how little it seems to pay off at the time.

Never been a fan of religion. I do not buy into it 100%, however, there are some morale teachings that can aid man in their "mortal" form.

My favorite quote:

Proverbs 27:17 "As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another."

I always thought this was fitting as a service member. When you are in the younger ranks you have a great support group amongst your peers.

I am not a very religious person, despite having a very identifiable faith. Lately, I have found a bit of a resurgence in the vigor at which I actively practice my faith. I have always felt a very strong spiritual side. Due to this I often have expanded outside of my faith group to explore how others convey messeges. Lately, I have found a lot of interesting correlations and messages to found with the Sufis. They really base around love and self-knowledge. It actually seems to fit in with much of what my Catholic teachers have always taught me throughout my life and people like Thomas Aquinas and others seemed to allude to through their writings. <div> </div><div>I just like looking outside of what is right in front of me to find new ways to think through life's little challenges. </div>

Most of us run into a fire - no fear - only to help. I think true soldiers and true grit are born in those that serve. That includes first responder.

There are many scriptures that I learned as a child and in my adult life. Also in my adult life I became aware of many other religions and honor them, as well. Many are in my family. One that has come to make much sense to me is that the bad one does comes back to one Three times over. That to me is a big one and I truly believe it behoves one to stay strong and straight and not screw up. A grandmother taught that and I know she was right.
