I am submitting two.

My first is the A-10. As a prior maintainer on this beautiful beast I loved watching it fly. And the concept.. you take a BFG and then build a aircraft around it. What red blooded American doesn't love that! As a structures guy, the A-10 was a very basic plane to work on. almost everything could be fixed, patched or spliced back together. Loved it.

Now since I never flew in a A-10, and can't give an accurate depiction of her performance as a means of travel. My next choice is the C-17.

The C-17 flies like a dream. I have taken a few trips in them across the pond and back and honestly it is just a pleasure to fly in. Smooth and level she can go through the worst of air and make it feel like a Cadillac on a smooth road. Always enjoyed the trips even though I was asleep part of the time by the lull of her engines.
