The day I left induction and began BCT, we formed up to march to our barracks.  One of the greatest experiences from that was when we started marching and singing cadence.  I smiled like an idiot (Fortunately, this escaped the notice of the Drill Sergeants ;)

When we started that march, I immediately felt like I was no longer an individual; I was a part of a team.  Something greater than myself.  I felt like I belonged.  It may sound silly, but at that moment, I knew I was where I should be and to this day, I recall that simple formation and march every time I go through something difficult in the Army.
