SFC Stephen King, I've put these two here, because I thought they were originally spoken by someone else.

"Men, I'll be honest. Winning isn't everything," then following a long pause, "Men, it's the only thing!" Although attributed (1950) to Henry Russell "Red" Sanders, UCLA football coach, I always thought they were Vince Lombardi's words.

"When you go into the endzone, act like you've been there before." I always thought these were the words of Paul "Bear" Bryant, but apparently, they were first spoken by Vince Lombardi, although attribution could be contentious.

This became a catch phrase in our unit for a while. Whenever someone would do something dumb, or some dumb directive came down from higher, people would just say "it stings after a while, ya know".
