What is your opinion about a CHECK IN Discussion thread?

Just a place that once a month or once a week you check in so people know that you around and kicking. You know just drop off the earth to some assignment in Greenland, or Johnson Island. Please give me your thoughts.

I am also checking in with this Photo too Smile you will enjoy it.

Good morning all I though this was just right for my other friends called COFFEE, CIGAR, and BACON. OK once in a while a O- something 1,2,3, etc

Just in case I have to explain for certain groups This is what I mean:

I was assigned to bum f nowhere and the internet would not work.

The sub went out and they did not surface for 30 days. Darn whale.

I just ran off with my Company Commander and she ( or he) is hot

I retired, I mean got tired and just unplugged for 30 days.

I been at the VA hospital and they lost me for 60 days till I woke up and I was in the morgue.

You know just something to let us know your breathing.

Seems like something easily solved by a "Last logged in" or "Last Activity" listed on profile, combined with a personal status option. Both read on your profile, easy to code, easy to maintain, and not messy like a forum.
