Great program. Like everything, it's not for everyone. Just like football or the band isn't for everyone. Since I have retired we have Marine NJROTC at Shawnee Mission North and it sounds like a good program also. Have something like Jr Marines too (Younger than High School) I think all the programs are sponsored by the Navy League of Greater Kansas City. The young adults who join this high school program appear more respectable towards other people, they appear concerned about how other people see them.. they also display a respect for our flag and our country.. I think its a GOOD program.. and aside from this they ware their pants high enough to cover their butts... GOOD Program !! Last year our detachment decided to give the two instructors award certificates which required some research. I was duly impressed with the criteria these instructors have to meet to even get into the program. As for the program with this retired Marine SgtMajor and Navy Captain, aces! The students are well mannered, carry themselves maturely and excel in academics. Wished my sons participated.
