What are your thoughts and feelings about this patch being the new shoulder insignia for all U.S. military currently serving in Iraq. Tell why you think and feel the way you do about it, and what you think an appropriate patch (if different than this one) would look like and why.

I'll leave the same response here that I left on COL Jean (John) F. B. thread on this same subject, " I'm not against recognition through patches but I don't like this patch. I have a lot of thoughts at once. The symbolism on it is too reminiscent of symbolism in the area that stands for what we're trying to extinguish. Honestly I think it looks in particular like an Iraqi artist's work. It looks like something from Saddam's reign."

Looks like something that might be worn by the palace guards of some Middle Eastern potentate in a comic opera. I expect it to be tattooed on their bare arms and chests. Does it come with a turban?

Ugly. Confusing.
