SFC Richard Bennett The mission of the military is "to fight and win our Nation's wars." There are military jobs that usually carry less risk than others, but potential recruits must keep in mind that military members deploy, and anyone deployed can find themselves in a situation where they need to pick up a rifle and defend themselves and their fellow brothers and sisters.

Believe me, when the bullits start flying, there are no non-combat troops. They taught you to shoot and throw a grenade in basic training for a reason. But somehow I think you already know that.

SFC Richard Bennett The military doesn't really have non-combat roles. Take the Army: Combat Arms, Combat Support, Combat Service Support. Each MOS in each of those is eligible to deploy in support of combat operations.

Recruiter is the only MOS that doesn't see combat in some way or another.
