What kind of timeframe am I looking at for a Request to Physical?

Hello. My question about the recruiting process. I seek a commission into the Army Reserve as a 66S. My recruiter and I have submitted a Request to Physical. It was forwarded from the CMO at MEPS to the Office of the Surgeon General. This was about 4 months ago. I wanted to know if this workflow was positive? Also what kind of timeframe am I looking at. Anything else would be helpful. Thanks in advance. Mike

Being as you're going critical care RN, I gather, you might find that page of interest, as USUHS has doctoral level nursing, I'm unsure if it's DNP or PhD, also, are you going NP at all? Are you MSN now or going for it? I realize you want Army, however, look also, if you care to, at USPHS Commissioned Corps, I don't know about critical care, however, the svcs have an exchange agreement with USPHS for psych-qualified 3 yr tours with Army, Navy, or USAF, as I said it might not be for you, I merely suggest glancing at it, nothing more, of course...also, have you had much OR time? Have you looked at something called Certified First Assist (CFA), which can be linked to nursing as an RN-FA, to pet you do surgical closures on your own, I think not necessarily needing an NP, I could he wronhg about that also, I just thought you might find it of interest, also, look at advanced trauma life support (ATLS) training, out probably already know of it, however I just thought to mention that also, USUHS also has an online certificate grad program in preventive med, I gather it's pretty backlogged now, however, try also have PhD programs for both civilian, as well as active duty, in infectious disease, mol and cell bio, and neuroscience, if those might interest you, look also at AFIT, the USAF grad school, and also Naval Postgraduate School (NPS), I'd seen healthcare suste!s level coursework under NPS, I don't know if AFIT has any...if you'd care to chat further, I'd be most eager to hear more, whenever convenient....

“Hurry up and wait” it took 9 months from the start of my packet, scroll, MEPS waiver for physical to sign my active duty contract for 66S. Most of the time the paperwork is just waiting for someone’s signature. Continue to follow up with your recruiter. I would assume it is a positive workflow since your request has not been denied - just hang in there. I’m still waiting as well, but now for assignment orders

1LT. Thank a lot for the response. I hate to look at the process through rose colored glasses but I have to think that the CMO at MEPS could've have just said no. I don't think they'd send it up to waste the time of the OTSG. Probably over-analyzing it but that's what 4 months of idle time will get you. I appreciate the help.

Any idea what the recruiting landscape looks like for 66 series, particularly 66S? Just curious if there isn't a need right now this my wait? Also any merit to the idea that the Powers That Be would what to get a denial information out sooner? Thanks

Most of the time recruiters battalions want the physical done within 30 days of someone agreeing to process.
