Approximately 70 Soldiers assigned to Basic Combat Training were involved in a one-vehicle accident while returning from church services on Sand Hill today according to a Fort Benning report.
The wreck happened at 12:30 p.m.
While making a turn, the vehicle tipped over, seriously injuring one soldier, who was evacuated with nine others to Midtown Medical Center.
Public Affairs officer Monica Manganaro said initial indications are the injuries are not life threatening.
Approximately 40 soldiers, with minor injuries, were transported to Martin Army Community Hospital for evaluation.
About 20 soldiers were evaluated on the scene and released.
A preliminary report indicates the truck the soldiers were riding in was overloaded.
Manganaro said it was an open-air truck and the driver is a member of the unit.
No further information is available at this time.
The accident is under investigation.

I honestly don't know Sir. People usually find a way. Everyone seems to be out for an easy buck these days. Look at the person who brought the lawsuit against McDonalds over hot coffee. That one still has me shaking my head.

Also, I'm sure it depends if the Army is at fault. If not the army "someone" always has to pay.

Probably a cattle car transport... They were outlawed for years, due to safety concerns, then they reappeared... not new ones... but the same old trailers...

Plenty of white school busses that drive around here, that would be my guess. 70 soldiers is a lot of folks..
