What kinds of employment resources would veterans pay for to help with transition to civilian life? Or would it only be free resources?

There's such an extensive supply of "resources" for each part of the transition process that you'd have to be a bit more specific with regard to which area you're referring (ie. employment, education, benefits, housing, spouses, programs... )

With so many free resources available i don't think I would pay for a transition service. Nevertheless, and based on location, sometimes there is no feasible access to such services.

I would pay for a service (training, boot camp, mentorship) that guarantees employment at a company in my desired field with a promised salary minimum.

Thank you, everyone, for your input. All the responses help verify my experience of transitioning & my work with the veteran community. Everyone ignores the most basic first step in any transition process.

"If it guarantees a job, it's a valuable resource." The one thing corporate HR and executives are looking for are people with the proper mindset for success. The education piece and experience are great but carry no value in corporate America.

The reason being, all candidates bring similar education background that are requirements for the position. Experiential knowledge can help differentiate but it is not a value until coupled with the "Optimal Mindset" for success. I know this because I was part of corporate America, as a C-Suite corporate executive for a fortune 50 corporation for 8 years.

That's why my purpose & passion in life is communicating this initial step of Optimizing your mindset for success in the civilian workplace. I would not pay for a thing. After all the time in service should be provided. And I there was none I still would not pay because there are so many headhunters out there that collect commission for getting vets jobs.
