I love this representation of the Forward Observer.

This piece was done by Pat Kelley and was purchased at the Hobbit Hobby Shop just off of Fort Bragg.

As an FO, I find this one hilarious and somewhat true to the nature of our MOS. "Kill it all, blow it all up, take 'em all out".

I don't have any links at the moment. But I like this type of stuff more than most. Of course, there are always the inspiring prints of military life that are good too. I like the humorous ones most though.

As a former 13A, that piece made me laugh out loud. As for me, the painting of Washington crossing the Delaware is one of my favorites.

Big Bill Maudlin fan, he did some of the best WWII artwork out there and continued to do many pieces for many years. I have a few compilations of his work, part of my library of too many books, but I love to read and look as well.

I really enjoy aircraft nose art. Here is one I took from a B-52 about a year ago. It is rather tame compared to others that I've seen in the past.

Well, I looked and looked and there have been NO responses from any Sea Service members to this point. I have to make a response and there are multiple I could choose from today, however, WWII was rich in Propaganda and Recruiting Posters that often tried to outdo each other. Some use the power of money, some patriotism, others pride of service and many just plain sex appeal. You get the idea.

Haven't been to Benning but the Armor museum at Fort Knox had a great gift shop with awesome Armor focused artwork. It threw me at first though because there was a LOT of German army based pieces but at the end of the day it comes down to respecting your enemy and that was the best opponent our tankers have ever faced. Personally I have the piece "And all hell's coming with me" that I'm a big fan of.

Of course I also have to acknowledge our Marines and their Art with, I believe one of the most recognized pieces ever. And probably the most reproduced. The flag raising on Iwo Jima. The Memorial at Arlington. The picture that was re-staged at the top of Mt. Suribachi and has been seen everywhere and finally, the picture we never see - a bunch of Marines around the flag at the top of the mountain looking like they go there the hard way. These look like art to me.

I think this is a good thread for those we are trying to get to join can see the substance of some things we discuss between us as current and former military, soft spoken as well as informational and mentoring types of postings.

i always thought this was a great picture of a SGT of mine from years a got. this was in 2004 i think awesome picture. good reminder of the soldier that are deployed during the holidays.

Not sure where the line is between art and memorial, maybe they're one in the same.

But this image left an impression on me, I haven't had the opportunity to see this installation in person, but I would like to.
