I know the best one and it’s not Hollywood drama-cheezy. I used it for years in junior enlisted counsels and training. The original Zulu. With a young Michael Cain. Not Zulu dawn or any of the other ones. Zulu. Michael Cain and an amazing Stanley Baker. It depicts the defense of Roarks Drift in Africa. You’ll see leaders faced with immediately accepting (begrudgingly) seniority of command based on date of commission. Constant changing battlefield and pivoting defense tactics. Constant -and I mean constant high pressure decision making. This is not typical Hollywood with cool lines and bravado. This is being in charge and having to make decisions. Yea the blood looks fake and the effects aren’t great. But it’s a fundamentals movie of leadership. Even makes the case for old school rank firing, drill and discipline. Don’t judge until you watch it. I still watch it once a year. Go stream it.
