SPC Private RallyPoint Member 3806565 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I&#39;ve been talking to a recruiter about going from IRR to Active Duty Army. He made it sound like he didn&#39;t know what MOS would be available to me or if I&#39;d stay an 88M. So I&#39;m just wondering if anyone had any insight on where I could end up? If I&#39;d have any choice what MOS I could go to? Or if how likely it&#39;d be that I&#39;d stay an 88M? What MOS could I get when transferring from IRR to Active Duty? 2018-07-19T10:08:01-04:00 SPC Private RallyPoint Member 3806565 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I&#39;ve been talking to a recruiter about going from IRR to Active Duty Army. When I went from the Reserves to Active Duty I had to take a new MOS because my old one wasn&#39;t open. That is typically what I have found happens when Soldiers have to go back through MEPS. What I would recommend as an alternative if you are still undecided. I am a Army Reserve Career Counselor and one of the best kept secrets in the Army is the AGR (Army Guard Reserve) program. If your ultimate goal is Active Duty status and you would like to have a choice in your MOS, I recommend reaching out to a Career Counselor. You can inbox me directly if you would like to hear more and understand how it all works. But so long as you are in an IRR status with contract time remaining you will not have to go back through MEPS if you see a Career Counselor. You can contact me directly if you would like more information.<br /><br />John P.
