What MOS s are allowed to wear the A2CU under the CTA 50-900? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/what-mos-s-are-allowed-to-wear-the-a2cu-under-the-cta-50-900

OK folks-

Being the studious individual that I am, I have combed over regulation, ALACRT, and any other form of publication. Even looked in the aforementioned CTA 50-900 to establish if my MOS was allowed to the wear the flight suit. Its interesting to note that I am a pilot on the civilian side, aircraft mechanic on the Guard side. I do have the aviation crewmember badge.

With that being said I am called to do track and balances, maintenance test flights, etc. I have gotten a mixed bag from people-but most seem to be in agreement mechanics are authorized to wear the A2s. I personally prefer them because they are much more comfortable and easier to work in.

In short-AR670-1 says we are good to go...simply because we have the crewmember badge. However, if the CTA 50-900 doesn't specify then what? I am just looking for clarification...

Thanks Thu, 08 Jan 2015 18:23:09 -0500 What MOS s are allowed to wear the A2CU under the CTA 50-900? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/what-mos-s-are-allowed-to-wear-the-a2cu-under-the-cta-50-900

OK folks-

Being the studious individual that I am, I have combed over regulation, ALACRT, and any other form of publication. I have always worn A2CU's any time I had an aircraft to work on and never had a problem. now if you sit in an office behind a desk then your not dealing with maintenance and should be in ACU's. You can even bring up the argument that flight suits are flame resistant and you never know if you will have to deal with fire plus you are able to DX them when they are worn or faded beyond the service life thru your ALSE and CIF. Granted I don't know bout the guard side but this is from my own personal experience. Find out from your leadership on the unit guidelines for wearing A2CU's for work.
