What movie do you compare to your time and service in the military?

A Just for fun post- After work today my roomate and I watched Office Space. While watching I realized that despite it being a civilian life portrayed in the film, what makes it most funny is that it is so comparable to daily life in the Army.

Kind of a cross between "In The Army Now", "A Few Good Men", "Midnight Run" and "Office Space" there are elements of each that I can apply to various points in my less than stellarly illustrious, shenaniganical military career.

I can't think of a movie, but now I remember on one of my deployments with the MPs and that movie Captain America came out on bootleg. Top had seen it and compared a few members of the company to the characters in that movie. HEHE! ..... Thankfully, I wasn't one on of them.

I did used to get annoyed of all the songs that Hollywood made to the war. Either country or alternative, there was so many coming out. But now when I hear the old song I enjoy it because it reminds me of time spent with my buddies. Good times, .....

No one movie encapsulates the entire experience. The first one that comes to mind is "Catch-22", with a little bit of "Sgt Bilko". Bits and pieces of "Full Metal Jacket", "An Officer and a Gentleman", "The Perfect Storm", and "The Guardian".

Never thought about a movie that was not military comparing to my time in the Army. A movie dealing with the Military would be 84C Mopic.
