What other badges should RallyPoint offer?

Just wondering if anyone thinks there should be more badges on RP to better identify who you are sharing your discussions with.

Here are my recommendations

Combat Rallypoint Badge- for having a thread in which you receive a thumbs down and subsequently post five more comments

Expert Rallypoint Badge- posting a question in which obtains 20 posts.

I would think because the purpose of this site and comment thread is for personal improvement & networking there are enough 'badges' already. There is always the option of making a formal request to look into additional badges if that would help fulfill the purpose of the site.

I think the current configuration is good. You can tell a lot about the person that is commenting through the badges now. Any more might take away from the quality of the site.

RallyPoint is not the Boy/Girl Scouts...over-badging is not the answer, well, maybe for some...taking part in discussions consistency, providing sound, accurate advice/information, encouraging others to do the same and not over-glorifying ourselves should be enough.

None needed- if you need a badge, and I had plenty to pin on my uniform while in service, then you evidently need reassurance on a minute by minute basi rather than believing in and knowing your own competence...

I recommend a badge for not recommending more badges, DA or RP. As soon as you write a post like "Burning shit is hard work! The Army should award a shit-burning badge!" you loose this badge.

I ask about more badges because the ones that are in place only show your status as a Rallypoint member such as the 5%,blue ribbon and the silver tab that indicates how many people you have invited. These are good badges if all you want to see is your status on RallyPoint. If there were badges that spoke to the career field you are in wouldn't that give a little more information right off the bat. I don't think that rally point should look like a Russian military uniform. But I can only imagine that there would be a benefit to having something more next to our RallyPoint status.

As I went through this thread I saw quite a few references to Boy Scout Badges and personally I take offense since I am an Eagle Scout with 2 palms.I learned a lot earning my badges.However I was decorated as well in the Ca. Army National Guard.In my opinion Rally Point doesn't need to offer badges.This is a military networking site and thus should be run in accordance to those standards.I do agree sometimes the military hands out awards like candy but the ones that are truly earned are the ones that are most cherished.Thats my take.
