What patch better fits Army Recruiters?

In 2007 MG Bostick, USAREC CG switched all Recruiters to the Army Star
Logo that we and all of HQDA and IET/OSUT Solider wears in order to capitalize
on the Army’s widely recognized symbol since we are the organization most in
touch with America, our Soldiers are ambassadors for the Army.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>

Now MG Batschelet
wants to switch back to the patch that Recruiters wore from the 1960s until they
switched the patch.<o:p></o:p>

In my option I
think that setting Recruiters apart from the rest of the Army is a good thing
and having a patch that was so recognized as the Liberty Bell Patch would help
Recruiters by breaking the ice and also having something to talk about with
those that are interested in joining the Army.<o:p></o:p>

No offense meant, but does it make a difference to the target audience?  The recruiter mission is acquisitions and our pool usually doesn't know what SSI stands for or the symbolism behind each.  Heck, they don't know what we say mean when we say "670-1 violation." The recruiting SSI is an issue for recruiters internally.  I'm all for them having their unique patch to go along with their badge to go along with my old station commander standing outside without a cover, smoking with both hands in his pockets, and ashing with a twitch of the jaw & lips.  As long everyone is happy and we get the best qualified recruits with the best longevity outlooks in order to fill slots as required.

I was in USAREC when they switched from the bell to the star. I prefered the bell.

I doubt it will generate much in the way of prospecting, but the Liberty Bell patch should be the patch!
