SPC Margaret Higgins - CPT (Join to see) I could do that if I were the man on the moon. ;) Actually, Captain, I am PARANOID of heights. Don't know exactly why. The hardest part to me, is always: Coming Down.

SPC Margaret Higgins - Coming down is the easiest part. I love it. I like rappelling off cliffs and structures too. Nothing like the rush feeling of the first step off.

SPC Margaret Higgins, being paranoid of heights is not an insurmountable hurdle for enjoying altitude-based recreation. I have an (ahem) extremely healthy respect for heights (at Air Assault School, my belay asked how I was able to kick the bottom of the Huey *every* time), and have discovered that the key to enjoying otherwise scarey stuff is to be too pre-occupied to be scared. Jumping from boulder to boulder at the top of Bishop's Peak was easy going up and down while I was busy chatting with my co-picnicker, skydiving from a Huey was easy when I had to focus on not letting the door rail snag my pack again, and the second bound of every rappel was always *much* longer.
CPT (Join to see), I have to concur that you are clearly no couch potato. My inner male chauvinist would try to whistle appreciatively if not for the fear that you would hunt me down and do some old-school attitude adjustment by doing some recreation and relaxation not involving climbing or running.

I'm smiling. It takes one who loves the rush to know the exhilaration of the another in such a pursuit/activity. I appreciate that very much.

I was once a fairly good outfielder in softball/baseball.
Now I am excellent at making sure my recliner does not get away.
