Once again, go to the source and see what the people that do this stuff day to day say about it. This is the recommended training bhttp://http://www.benning.army.mil/infantry/rtb/content/PDF/Ranger%20School%20Prep%201%202.pdfefore you hit Ranger School.

RASP and Ranger School are two different animals.

SPC Elijah J. Henry, MBA - Certainly they are, but RASP is the starting point for Enlisted or non Ranger Officers going to the Battalion and they now have increased the length of time to 8 weeks to finish the course from the old 4 weeks RIP. If I were wanting to train up for RASP, I would hit the same PT regiment and subject matter listed for Ranger School.
Watching the evolution of the training for people going to the Regiment, my gut feeling is that the Rangers are moving toward a school that is more in line with training for the specific needs of the Regiment.
Oh, I stand corrected. I am told everyone going to the Regiment must do RASP now.

Fortunately, when done right fitness is fairly versatile to a point. However, I would put more emphasis on push-ups, pull-ups, and running in preparing for RASP, and more emphasis on rucking for Ranger School.

Don't forget heavy packs and walking long distances. Work on your land nav skills, as well.

The best PT programs I know of are from TSgt Nathanael Morrison and his American Defence System. Stew Smith also has good stuff.
