So many people try to make something out of what is NOT said rather than taking what IS said at face value. I've changed the tone of my conversations quite a bit from my first year on RP. It just wasn't worth it and I love how some love to argue online rather than use this for what it is worth - a DISCUSSION forum. I do this for three reasons. First, I have always believed that those three topics can be very volatile and tend to spiral into some very nasty dialogue. Second, since I have been a member of RallyPoint, I have not had anything constructive to offer on any of those three topics. But since there is a politics topic I try to confine my comments to that particular forum and keep my name calling to a minimum. I also agree with religion, to the extent of commenting on keeping religion separate from politics, and must be careful when addressing topics involving gender. Also have to avoid topics of current immediate interest such as uniforms, PT belts, weight standards, promotion requirements, medals, etc which I have no current knowledge of or experience with.
