Good morning team, I’m preparing a OCS packet for the October Board. In considering the structured interview and the overall packet strength, what recommendation do you have for accosting for a lower GPA (2.6). I will also be requesting an age waiver.
At the time of the Board I will have 9 years AFS and I am currently serving as a Drill Sergeant. I am a 92Y, 2 deployments, 1 overseas tour. All NCOER’s are strong. Happy to provide addition background as needed. Thank you for your time.

Always remember the Scholar - Athlete - Warrior triad the Green to Gold packet talks about. The Army wants to see a high GPA, or something else showing education and intelligence - Athletic achievement like high APFT, MFT, Combatives etc - and Warrior being military skills, education, schools like Ranger, Airborne, Air Assault, etc.

I would gather evidence and highlight your potential for greater leadership and complex problem solving skills.

I just told them the truth. I went into college at 18 when I had no clue what I wanted to do with my life other than chase women and drink beer. I joined the Army to change that, and it looks like your career would support that you have turned that around too.
My GPA wasn't a lot better than yours, but I ended up at the top or near the top of every school I attended.
