If I understand the regulations correctly, I am entitled to one OSS for each six months of OCONUS service. Since I have ten months, I am only entitled to one. The last part of the regulation confuses me as it says that for twelve month deployments you can count the first and last month. So then that would be twelve and two stripes? Also, if memory serves, shorter periods of deployment, to qualified areas may be combined to meet the six month rule.
http://ar670.com/articles/view/28/overseas-service-bars/296

 Army Regulation 670-1 | Overseas service bars | Section 28.28 Page 252

Response by MAJ Alvin B. made Nov 27 at 2017 10:37 PM 2017-11-27T22:37:37-05:00 2017-11-27T22:37:37-05:00 SSG(P) Private RallyPoint Member 3125813

It is no longer the “combat stripe”

The overseas service bar can be referenced in AR 670-1 and DA PAM 670-1 Response by SSG(P) Private RallyPoint Member made Nov 28 at 2017 4:53 AM 2017-11-28T04:53:01-05:00 2017-11-28T04:53:01-05:00 SPC Gabriel Botero Jr., MSW, LCSW 3126286

Thank you everyone for your responses.
