While researching this to type up some memorandums for my soldiers that deployed with me I couldn't find anything to support this. All I found was in AR 600-8-22 para 4-18(3) that says it stops when you mobilize ands starts back up when you return to reserve status. Is my research correct or did I miss something What resource addresses the requirements for the Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal? 2016-06-12T10:19:09-04:00 SGT Private RallyPoint Member 1621215 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>My PSG said he was told that your time no longer stops when it comes to the three years to be eligible for the ARCAM even if you deploy and get the AGCM. This is a group that is a part of Milsuite. There is an Awards FAQ thread that should answer this question and many more. If you were on Active duty and did not attain the minimum period for the GCMDL, no break is incurred since there is no duplication of service. Reference is AR 600-8-22 para 4-17b. Got activated for the war and time was tolled until he was REFRAD. Got 5 years in before activated for the Korean Police Action. REFRAD and in 1958 had his 10 years for it. It was declared obsolete a couple months after he got it. Replaced by Armed Forces Reserve Medal.
