"In this game, Glassdoor has actually emerged as the winner, with growth far outpacing other online recruitment marketing destinations in North America as of April 2015 (see above), although overall volume still lags well behind LinkedIn and Indeed (although it has in fact beat CareerBuilder’s combined traffic for the last three months, a trend that’s likely to hold). It doesn’t take a genius to figure out how this happened."

Indeed & Glassdoor Fight for The Future of Online Recruiting

http://recruitingdaily.com/traffic-transparency-talent-technology-the-future-of-online-recruiting/The gloves are off, and it looks like the battle for the future of online recruiting and job search is heating up! The real key is networking. LinkedIn allows you, in some cases, to contact the recruiter or HR rep before you apply. That really saves time in the job search. I targeted specific companies once I found out what jobs they offered.
Different topic in the same thread: Write your resume for the job, not every job you have ever had. Convert your resume into normal everyday civilian speech instead of an eval. Use the job req as the template for your resume. If you know you qualify for the job based on the req then help out the hiring manager by demonstrating how you meet those requirements. Also for the old guys and girls don't try to squeeze 20+ years of experience into a one page document. Show what you did the last 5-10 years then summarize your early career. Feel free to have a 2-3 page resume if what you did is relevant.

That's my 10 cents to help out my brothers and sisters transitioning into the civilian world.
