What’s 92A AIT like?

What is 92A AIT like? i already did basic a couple years ago. just worried about AIT. i ship this month for it and i don’t know what to expect. Thank you

it's been quite a while since I went through loggie school but it wasn't too difficult. Just like everything else in the army, keep your nose clean, head down and be where you're supposed to be when you're supposed to be there. They have a vested interest in making sure you succeed so they will do everything they can to help you if you are will to put in the effort.

I believe it will be like basic training, but not as stringent, classes and PT as usual.

I was a 92A for 9 years before I changed my MOS. I don’t know what the promotion potential is now for that MOS, when I had it, it was deadlocked for E6. You had to max out EVERYTHING in order to get promoted. The job, just depends, you can work in a motor pool, a warehouse or in a maintenance shop. Very diversified.

Death by power point and obviously drill sgts are back at least where i went they were getting gradually stricter and we got smoked more often just to be smoked and you spend most of your day in a computer chair following your instructor on the damn PowerPoint it sucks dont fall asleep, clean your room with your battles otherwise you will lose your black pass on the weekend, and lastly dont fuck up on your tests you will be recycled and it will destroy your will to live hope this helps

as a 92A i can say the classes were easy it was the waiting for you're security clearance that was a bitch 13 wks training 16 wks waiting for my clearance

Thanks for the vote up Lauryn. If you are planning on making a career in the Army, then just keep your nose clean. I changed my MOS TO 74D (Chemical) at the 10 year mark, best decision in my career. I used to tell all my students when I became an instructor at Fort Leonard Wood, you are there to learn not find your next ex. Plenty of time for that later in life. Your first weeks you will pretty much be on lockdown, you will learn about procuring parts for vehicles, you will do ALOT of PT. I hope you go in with an open mind. Some classes are VERY boring, just keep motivated, keep your squad members motivated and set the example. I am not sure, but I think that Drill Sergeants are there in AIT again. If you have questions ask, don’t just let it go.

AIT was simple just do ask you’re told like basic and pass the test you will have to take very laif back compared to basic. I enjoyed every moment at Ft. Lee.

AIT is awesome but most of your job training you learn at your unit. Still pay attention and soak up all the information.

I personally really disliked my 92A training in ft. Lee VA. It was worse than basic for me but i kept my head down and mouth shut and pushed through all the BS. You can hack it. The schooling was easy, but the PT standards (as of 2003) were incredibly and increasingly difficult for myself personally. Running for miles during the hottest days of the year with the crazy humidity was horrid. So i hope your not there during the long summer months.

AIT as a 92A is a lot of classroom work. You learn the basics of GCSS-Army and how you will use it as a logistics specialists. You will learn about SSA operations, inventory, and parts accountability and the paperwork involved.
You will still do organized PRT every morning and be expected to pass an APFT at the end of your cycle.
The leadership and cadre will still expect you to maintain the discipline you learned in basic training.
Overall, AIT is pretty chill if you stay motivated.

A Logistics specialists is awesome. You get trained in Automation (computer) for supplies in unit , battalion, or Division. Supplies may vary from pencils or mask/ weapons. Accountability is the key and your diverse training will teach many skills.
