I tried everything I could think of and no luck. While I have doubts about legality about my method of getting the reward to the recipient I managed to do just that. the DA638 and award had the SM&#39;s SSN on them, I took them down to the ID card facility to see if they could find him. They looked him up and yes her was still alive and issued a retried ID. They also gave me his last known address. I wrote up a long letter apologizing for his award being in limbo for a decade and mailed it out to him. 1SG Dennis Hicks Mon, 20 Jan 2020 07:35:51 -0500 2020-01-20T07:35:51-05:00 Response by SSG Lonny Self made Jan 20 at 2020 11:18 AM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/what-s-a-better-way-to-locate-or-contact-servicemembers-that-ets-or-retired-from-the-military-with-no-forwarding-address-to-receive-doc?n=5462704&urlhash=5462704 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>ssn SSG Lonny Self Mon, 20 Jan 2020 11:18:44 -0500 2020-01-20T11:18:44-05:00 Response by SSG Mark Franzen made Jan 20 at 2020 7:38 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/what-s-a-better-way-to-locate-or-contact-servicemembers-that-ets-or-retired-from-the-military-with-no-forwarding-address-to-receive-doc?n=5464402&urlhash=5464402 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>maybe facebook or on here that&#39;s how I met up with Guy I was stationed with back in 1978 SSG Mark Franzen Mon, 20 Jan 2020 19:38:55 -0500 2020-01-20T19:38:55-05:00 Response by LtCol Robert Quinter made Jan 20 at 2020 8:17 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/what-s-a-better-way-to-locate-or-contact-servicemembers-that-ets-or-retired-from-the-military-with-no-forwarding-address-to-receive-doc?n=5464528&urlhash=5464528 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>The Reserve Headquarters at Ft Bragg might be able to help.
