Not really a military related question but I thought some of you might be able to help out.My anniversary is coming up and the traditional 3rd anniversary gift is leather.Since we moved to TX the wife has been wanting a nice pair of boots and this sounds like a good time to make that happen.About how much should I look to spend on something that's decent quality but won't put me in the poorhouse?

For a good pair of boots that will last your looking at $100-$200 depending on the brand and style. Make sure you know if she wants them for everyday wear or for going out in. The style is different. If she wants them to go out get a flashier pair that are pointed toe with a heel. If she wants everyday wear go for something more simple that is more square toed and less of a heel. If there is a Boot Barn near by they tend to have good prices. As a female I would suggest unless she has pointed out a pair that she would like to have taking her with you to get them. I know it takes the surprise effect away but that way you ensure she get's what she wants and will more likely wear them instead of wearing them every now and again to keep from hurting your feelings.
