Expand each bullet down 3 times (why they're important, how to do it, etc).

Pretty it up, by slapping it up on a sheet of paper.

"Don't over think the problem" Response by Sgt Aaron Kennedy, MS made Jun 2 at 2015 8:36 PM 2015-06-02T20:36:08-04:00 2015-06-02T20:36:08-04:00 LTC Private RallyPoint Member 717454

SGT(P) Daniel McBride My best advise take your section away from the battery / company / troop, grab some comm equipment and TMs and just train. Ensure you have an agenda you want to follow, but don't get wrapped around some super sexy PPT presentation for the training. Hands on is always the best method, with some trouble shooting items in there to train against. Uhlig 717863

For an effective Maintain Effective Communications, especially on Fort Hood, take your platoon out to a field training site (West Fort Hood used to always be open). Use butcher block paper and prep your class in advance (this is an exceptionally easy & fun class!)

You take the overall task, but get the other squad & team leaders involved by having them train subtasks (set up the OE-254; use of the radio and etc).

Have the platoon compete against each other setting up the OE-254 and establish communications....this will take about an hour to effectively train them (demonstrate) how to set up the antennae correctly.

The key is to get the section away from the classroom, away from their POVs, and get into the field...."what if it rains"....make them bring the prescribed packing list...which should include setting up some cammo netting as well as hasty cammo of a vehicle etc....

Our Soldiers want to train, they want to be challenged and they want to learn their jobs. I think you will do well and am looking forward to some feedback - when is your training? Response by CSM Michael J. Is this for a squad or a platoon element? If you can install radios, that is a bonus for it multiplies the experience points for drivers. Maybe you can drive the vehicles because it will cost too much money. You have to over come and adapt. You can certain conduct training in the motor pool with your vehicle even if you put them in a line to simulate a convoy.
