A few years ago the top dogs said we were headed that way again as a cost saving measure for the DoD. They even stated a deadline, which I don't recall, for the pattern to be proposed and agreed upon. I've heard nothing about it since but I have heard about the Army and Marines working on more designs for themselves. Does anyone know where this is really headed? What's going on with uniforms?2014-04-08T21:57:38-04:00MSgt Private RallyPoint Member97077<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Remember when everybody wore the same uniform? However, they don't say anything when each branch takes that one duty uniform and modifies it to fit their own branch of the service.Response by LTC Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 9 at 2014 2:49 AM2014-04-09T02:49:24-04:002014-04-09T02:49:24-04:00SSgt Gregory Guina97213<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I believe that we should have a single pattern (or two as in MARPAT). After leaving active duty Air Force in the early 90's and returning to the Guard, I've noticed a lot of cross over (joint operations wise) during deployments. If this continues it will be hard to distinguish branches and functions on military ops. For continuity purposes it may be easier for everyone to wear the same uniform but who really knows the long term effects? With TFI, BRAC and other initiatives taking place, it would appear that we will have the role of the Soldier, Sailor, Marine and Airman all rolled in to one neat package! Hell, after all the numerous CBT's I've taken, I'm not really sure what I am anymore!Response by TSgt Private RallyPoint Member made May 21 at 2015 6:12 AM2015-05-21T06:12:05-04:002015-05-21T06:12:05-04:00TSgt Thomas Monaghan809232<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Back to name badges, then back to BDU,then back to ABU/then ABU's with Name patches, then who knowsResponse by TSgt Thomas Monaghan made Jul 12 at 2015 11:34 AM2015-07-12T11:34:05-04:002015-07-12T11:34:05-04:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member2704279<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Are patent leather low quarters still not allowed in training units?
