what's going to happen if you failed to move your family to your duty station? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/what-s-going-to-happen-if-you-failed-to-move-your-family-to-your-duty-station <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I&#39;ve heard that you are authorized 10 days of free leave to move your family to the new duty station. However, my wife is unsure if she&#39;s willing to move or not. So in case I take that 10 days leave, and come back to my duty station without my wife, will they count it to my 30 days of leave/year or what will happen to me? Sounds like she is not really on board or does not understand that you are in the Army and appears that the family is not a unit... this will almost certainly cause problems in the future. Wanna bet on it? SSG Brian L. If she doesn&#39;t move with you you will still need to find a house there since you are married. If you two are the only ones who can take care of your mother-in-law you can make her a dependent so she is able to go with you two where ever you PCS so you aren&#39;t paying for two households since the Army wont pay you extra if your wife living somewhere else. My husband has currently been reassigned; however, we bought a house in 5)3 new location and a re currently trying to sell our other home. He hasn’t taken his leave yet but will be taking it soon to help get the house for sale. I told my husband from day one that I would follow him wherever he goes because this is his career and I’m not loosing my family or husband because the Army decided to promote him and relocate. It’s part of the job. Me being a veteran, I understand the sacrifices we all have to make. I’m scared to move but I want to be with my husband.
