What's happened to Rallypoint? Every post is a shitty political cartoon making fun of trump or biden, people are advocating violence for against trans people, and the pervasiveness of obvious meme accounts? I thought this was supposed to be a professional site ala LinkedIn, which while bad in its own way, doesn't hold a candle to what's going on here.

That's because the military is suffering under Joe biden. This parody came out 5 years ago but I wouldn't be surprised if it happens.

The military budget is being cut back after considering inflation yet Green New Deal entities are getting 20% more than the military budget after inflation. Self-inflicted by Joe who left Afghanistan and now Russia has invaded Ukraine and China is invading Taiwan shortly because our president is across between Mr Magoo and Mr Rogers

Sounds like one of the posts I did last year as well as the follow-up posts to the community since then*. It's a reflection of the times and the partisanship that seems to exist on a wide range of topics.

Based on your profile, you're new to the platform unless this is a covert account. I saw your first post was recent activity on a six year old post. The individual you referenced as advocating for violence against trans people was one of those "indirect advocations" (i.e., "I think a bus full of lawyers going over a cliff would be funny" vs "Everyone needs to go out and kill a lawyer since they are scourges on humanity!"). However, the comment has been removed.

We have a number of partisans who like nothing better than shouting into the echo chamber as they would do on any social media platform (I've even seen an EFMP thread getting political because invariably someone is going to shout something partisan). They are free to post those comments as long as they adhere to the community standards* - RP staff nor the member administrators silence someone based on ideology. As such, they are free to post whatever else they want to, and everyone else is free to ignore those posts.

If something is against the standards, please let the RP staff or a member administrator know by a direct message.

My advice is the same that SGM Erik Marquez gave in the first link below (longing for the old days...). Stay in the Answers Forum. Those are controlled closely and aren't allowed to become partisan dumping grounds (or rather, they aren't any more ... there are a few that fell through the cracks early on).

Questions from folks about how this or that was affected by a policy, a new regulation, or something else. Questions asking about someone experience when they were at this post or that base. Questions about opinions about different ways of doing things...

The person who recommended this site to me presented it as a place for military & ex military to hang out. As such, I've treated this place much like any other forum I've belonged to in the past. I look at forums kinda like saloons. Go in, hang out, see what's going on, maybe chit-chat with somebody, or a bunch of somebodies. Sometimes there's a good crowd, other times not so much. Oh well.

SSG Carlos Madden COL Randall C. And then there's folks like 1SG Mark Gomez that just can't help themselves. I had to make a new comment on the thread because apparently He has me blocked. We live in a polarized nation, it can only be expected that it would reach down into Social Media. You can block those folks you don't want to see. Or you can not block people and choose not engage. Personally I block the ones that always seem to be getting all the Trailblazer points, because the points are all they're interested in. They're more like the Greeters at Wal-Mart, nothing important to say but if you peruse the Leader board there they are.

There have been some questionable accounts that have popped up, and they get dealt with pretty quickly.
Not being able to laugh at stuff is a personal choice. Slamming the site because you lack a sense of humor is a You thing. Most of us are able to respond or scroll on by a post that we disagree with or like.

I've been in and out of RP for 5 years or longer. I've NEVER seen anyone advocating for violence against anyone, except foreign adversaries.
For anyone to glibly put that falsehood out there is really disappointing. We give each other crap and actively block people that have thinking other than our own, but nobody has ever made a statement advocating for violence against Trans people. We might laugh and scroll on past, but never say a word about violence.
The "Woke" crowd sees silence as violence, because the Trans people aren't "Seen" but that is just another narcissistic position to try and guide the attention to themselves.
Wake up and look in the mirror, then come back with a real conversation.

I've asked that same question Mack, now a days, I find myself filtering out what to see and read. Years ago, the site was more helping other, with advice and experiences.
I know of some very good people that had left the site, and now on other sites, like TWS (Together We Serve).

at the same time i find it unacceptable to allow one sided hit pieces, mostly without facts and not having an opposite response - with facts so response has to happen to even the field

I do not have this experience on this site. What I do see is the same posts over and over, and I find myself answering the same post several times. I see the issue as not enough content for new posts all of the time. If this drives people to post things as SPC Mack F. states, then the owners of this site may want to look into this. I find some good conversations here, but I do not participate in most questions.

What would expect in such a political devicive time? There are things on RP that I don't agree with but I just ignore those that I dont agree with. A lot of vets are of the same opinion as me and it shows. I'm not new on RP and have a 95% rating. I would suggest if all the politival bantering upsets you then you should stop reading RP instead of complaining about what others express.

It's not RallyPoint IMHO, but the chaos that has consumed us all! The border Crisis and lack of law and order, defending the police, and more has our Nation's citizens on edge... At 81, I, for one, have never seen anything to compare with what's going on today! The Nation's of our World are at odds and it doesn't bode well for any one, especially if one of the nuclear natuons decides to fire a nuke on the U.S. or anywhere in the world! Civil War could break out if we are not careful! BTW, Beware of the goings on of The World Economic Forum and how they hope to reform the world's population and reducing its numbers... We live in difficult times... We need to get back to our Country's roots, not grow apart from them... Just saying...

I don't think this site is going to hell. Yes, there are a couple of people who post a lot of memes ridiculing Biden or President Trump. Keep in mind that one person posts so many memes excoriating President Trump that it looks like the whole gang of us must be doing it. Yes, just one person. I have commented several times that it looks like spam to me and some RP Admin should put a stop to it. (Sadly, not one RP Admin has bothered to respond let alone do anything) The simple truth is that RP is a form of social media, not a site for professional development. Yes, very occasionally a junior leader on active duty will post a plea for help and some of us old timers will chime in with help. But our nation is in distress and most of us are patriotic enough to be concerned. Is anyone surprised? Does anyone disagree that we should be distressed? And many of us feel bound by our oaths to defend the Constitution which is under attack? Anyone disagree that the Constitution is under attack? So put on your big boy and big girl pants and prepare for a rough ride.
