SPC Private RallyPoint Member 6237037

Does anyone have any additional information on Counterintelligence agents? Like whats the day to day like? deployments? ect.. I’m looking into switching my MOS, I’m currently 11B. I feel like 11B just isn’t for me I know I can do more, I’m just not very interested in being an 11B. I’m currently deployed so I’ve got a ton of time to look into different opportunities and options, would love some feedback. What’s it like being a counterintelligence agent? 2020-08-23T14:02:27-04:00 SPC Private RallyPoint Member 6237037

Does anyone have any additional information on Counterintelligence agents? Things have changed greatly in that time including the MOS designation from 97B To 35L. My job was atypical for a Counterintelligence Special Agent in my era.

Myself and eight other members were recruited directly from our class to work for the Army General Staff, specifically the Assistant Chief of Staff for Intelligence. I spent two and half years analyzing intelligence reports from Army and other military and federal agencies. The analysis resulting in intelligence estimates distributed to military offices and federal agencies, occasionally to the highest levels of the federal government.. Some analysis would be presented as a briefing. All reports and briefings were classified at some level.

in my office, enlisted, commissioned officers and DA civilians were on an equal basis regarding professional responsibility and respect. All were Action Officers in their respective areas of expertise and worked mostly independently. Liaison was carried out with counterparts in some the same offices and agencies that received the analysis.

Here are some links that may answer your questions, some being redundant.

https://www.goarmy.com/careers-and-jobs/browse-career-and-job-categories/intelligence-and-combat-support/counterintelligence-agent.html

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7jrEOk61OXU

https://www.thebalancecareers.com/army-enlisted-job-descriptions-and-qualification-factors-3346153

https://www.armytimes.com/news/your-army/2015/08/03/now-hiring-army-needs-counterintelligence-agents/

http://www.armywriter.com/NCOER/35L.htm

Counterintelligence Agent (35L)

The Counter Intelligence (CI) Agent conducts investigations to detect and counter terrorist threats. Eventually, I was assigned to an ASA Field Station where I found myself conducting investigations into what should have been conducted by Provost Marshall/MP types. I was NOT a happy camper, and requested reassignment back to my secondary MOS of 96b. I was happy to return home and do analytical reports concerning hostile nations/threats! Live and learn......
