What's it like working in an Airborne unit as an 88M?

Just enlisted as a 88 mike with airborne school in my contract. Just was wondering what it would be like in a airborne unit for me ?

First things first: Airborne!
I can't say much about the 88M MOS (11B here), but I can say you'll love being Airborne.

You’ll be doing everything a regular 88m does except you’ll be jumping out of planes too

It has been a long time for me. for being there, 11B with the old ford 151 Jeeps'. we had to leard to do Heavy drop rigging. As well as always driving troops to the field , ranges . Most of that depends on the type of unit you go to. Go to Air Asault School as soon as you can. it will help with the regging, and Bage And the Points for Military education will help for promtion.

The only thing we had in the 70s to carry the 81mm and accessories was a MULE. But if they can heavy drop a M551, they can drop you with what ever you're riding in, and then some.

Speaking from an FSC (Forward Support Company) for an Infantry Battalion within the 82nd Airborne Division, you will be depended on for mass troop and possibly parachute transportation while in garrison. You play a big part for the battalion when it comes to any kind of logistic.
Since I am a vehicle mechanic I have to say that you also responsible for the destruction of our vehicles and will definitely put us to work. Lol

88M myself you basically are the military's taxi depending were you go if you go to a slower unit you become a level 10 91B too so get familar with your vehicles because youll be fixing them too

Good luck. I was in an 88m company attached to an airborne company when I was in iraq and they treated us like crap and like we didn't matter. Now not all of them are like that but a few might be but everyone else is right you'll have a blast

It just all depends on where you go. If you go to Bragg, you'll probably end up in the 82nd.
